Meet the Staff
My name is Barbara Lohre. I am the owner of Southpaw Pet Salon. I chose to open my own business so I can control the quality of work, products and service. I want each dog to look his best and have an enjoyable and safe experience.
I am a graguate of Graywood Academy of Pet Styling in Newnan, GA and have received specialized training in hand-striping terriers. Although vocational licensing of pet grooming is not required in Virginia, I have tested and received certification with the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists (ISCC). I believe strongly in continuing education and strive to keep current by attending annual trade events for the pet grooming industry.

... and who's really in charge?

AND greets clients.
My name is Rosie and I am the greeter at Southpaw Pet Salon. I worked with horses all my life until Mom and I moved to Georgia. At school I helped at the front desk and also kept an eye on the grooming room. Every afternoon I’d slip off to nap, um, I mean study. On our last day they presented me with a doggie diploma. I believe that every dog should have a job and I’m happy to be the Chief Southpaw Greeter.
Hi! I'm Greta. Barbara and I met at a dog show. I was in need of a new home so I wagged my happy tail at Barb and the next thing I knew, she was asking to take me. I like visiting with dogs and people and I wag my tail for everyone!
Update: I found life at Southpaw much too boring for a working terrier so Barb let me move to Hall's Orchard in Flint Hill. Now I'm in charge of keeping field mice and other vermin under control and I have two Standard Poodle sisters to get into trouble with. I still come back to Southpaw for visits and to get my wire coat hand stripped.
